Tasting Notes

Heitz, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, 2007
varietal: 100% sauvignon blanc

In an aromatic medley of tropical fruit and honeysuckle, the 2008 Sauvignon Blanc primes the senses for the delicious wine to follow.

Fresh citrus flavors of lime and pink grapefruit skip across the palate adding notes of juicy nectarine along the way. Crisp with bright acidity, this wine is enticing from initial sip to graceful finish

Heitz, Chardonnay, Napa Valley, 2007
varietal: 100% chardonnay

Tasting Notes: The  2007 Napa Valley Chardonnay is sleek and vibrant with the invigorating aroma of juicy pear and lemon blossoms.

It’s a delicious wine delivering tiers of citrus flavor and the slight tanginess of green apple wrapped around a creamy center.

Well-balanced with clean acidity and a lightly toasted character, you will enjoy this Chardonnay from the first refreshing taste through the gracefully extended finish.

Heitz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bella Oaks, 2002
varietal: 100% cabernet sauvignon

The 2002 Bella Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is multi-faceted and engaging.  The first time you swirl your glass and smell the wine you will be reminded of delicate violets and fragrant blueberries.

Lots of extraction of pure varietal fruit follows though on the palate, demonstrating the power of the vintage highlighted by an appealing plummy softness.  This is an impeccable wine with glorious fruit, well-built and not over-manipulated by the winemaker.

Heitz, Zinfandel, Napa Valley, 2005
varietal: 100% zinfandel

The 2005 Zinfandel is a vivacious expression of the varietal with an inviting ruby hue and the enticing aroma of crushed raspberry and fresh cherry.

Flavors of bright berry fruit slide across the palate, picking up a hint of spice and soft vanilla. This is a well-structured wine with just the right balance of chewy tannins and lively acidity to glorify the fruit.

Enjoy this beautifully crafted Zinfandel --- generous varietal flavor that never goes over the top as it builds to a smooth, clean finish.

Heitz, Ink Grade Port, Napa Valley
Varietals: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Sauzao, Tinta Cao, Tinta Bairrada, Tinta Madeira, Tinta Amarela and Bastardo

The Ink Grade Port is a splendid union of eight traditional Portuguese varieties rarely combined in this country. These hardy grapes thrive on our sun-baked Napa Valley hillside and offer up a lavish purple hue in the glass.

Our winemaker has created a harmonious blend of vintages from 1999 through 2003 that is packed with lush fruit and highlighted with notes of ripe plum and dried cherry. This wine is rich and full-bodied, yet smooth and not too sweet on the palate. Sip it solo or pair it with your favorite blue cheese --- definitely a dessert to be lingered over.
