since a very early age, JOAQUIN dreamed of becoming a chef, and his deep enthusiasm for food led him to gain experience at some of the finest hotels and restaurants in spain, working with many of the country's leading chefs.

JOAQUIN is particularly passionate about mediterranean-style cuisine, and possesses a wide knowledge of many regional specialties from his home country

TORRES- a legendary wine family

the history of the TORRES family can be traced back to the 17th century in the penedès region, south of barcelona. headed by miguel a. torres, president and chief winemaker, TORRES has become the model of prestigious spanish wine.  TORRES wines can now be found in over 140 countries. the TORRES family is a founding member of the pfv, primum familiae vini (the “first families of wine”), an international association of 12 historic and prestigious wine families which include château mouton rothschild and antinori.

TORRES winery has received many awards over the years. it was selected as “the most important winery in spain” by world authority wine magazine WINE SPECTATOR. in 2002, international wine magazine DECANTER named mr. miguel a. torres “decanter man of the year” for his expansion of spanish wine to the world; the highest honour one can receive in the wine industry. additionally in 2006, WINE ENTHUSIAST magazine selected TORRES as “the best european winery”.
